Amos Lee

I can listen to Amos any time, whether I'm designing or driving the kids. I have even been known to play Amos Lee during those rare moments when no one is around and silence is actually a possibility. It seems to fit my mood always. David even has his albums on his alarm clock playlist. We saw Amos in concert last week at the Madison in Covington. He is such a humble and seemingly kind man, that you can't help but fall in love with his persona. I must also mention that he is refreshingly intelligent and well-spoken. His music, which is dark and sweet all at once, seems even more authentic to me after seeing him on tour. His whole band is made up of fine musicians, and I'm officially a fan. Just waiting for the next concert!
Three-strand floating gold necklace. Custom design SOLD.
Orange agate and crystal brangle (a flexible bangle with clasp). Loaded with sterling gooodies.
Lacrimosa. Teardrop wire wrapping set with earrings.

Earthy ideas

Here are some of the new things I've been coming up with in the garage. Between the torch, the hammer, the drill, and the toxic chemicals I'm a dangerous woman!

Waiting on Ben

I had the pleasure of going to one of my husband's gigs Saturday night. No kids, no gig for me. Just going to listen and eat. The restaurant is Apsara, in Blue Ash, and if you live in Cincinnati area, you must check it out. It is the younger brother of Teak, in Mt. Adams. Thai food and sushi. Naturally, I ordered a beautiful assortment of sushi, since this was a rare chance for me. Yummy! I don't mean to take away from the band, which sounded great...a really nice mix of music fitting for a relaxed patio setting. Ben has written some good songs to add to the covers, and all of the band members are really talented. So let me endorse the band, Waiting on Ben, and the restaurant, Apsara. It was an all around good time!

Quiet

This is so weird. Husband's gone to a Reds game (Go Reds!), the older 2 are at a neighbor's baseball game, and my little Aaron fell asleep on the family room floor--wiped out after a day of swimming. I just can't deal with time! I'm getting all shifty and ADHD, if you will. It's nervousness over relaxation. What is wrong with me? I'm determined that, with practice, I will master this!

Pebble Beach. Crazy lace agate pebbles and accents of antique pewter, pearls, and shell.

Amazonite Meadow. Liquid silver and gold, with beautiful creamy green teardrops.

So simple to wear-blue goldstone and sterling drop. I've attached a sterling slide to this great navy blue stainless steel strand of five. The sterling closure is the best-just push and twist. This doesn't have a name yet.

Cracked Glass

As I'm staring at my great little glass crackle beads, I'm reminded of the cracked windows in this house. Only 8 years old, it's surprising to me that 2 of our windows have randomly, without help from the children, cracked. They already let in lots of frigid air, so with cracks I'm just not feeling too warm about them right now. The manufacturer doesn't sound surprised by this and does nothing to fix them! So sad. Now about 6 of the windows in our morning room (which is ALL windows) are showing condensation between the panes. I wonder if this is considered normal too?

Super Bowl

Today my husband asked me if I was looking forward to the game tomorrow. Since we're going to hang out at my sister's, I said, "yeah." Then he asked if I knew who was playing. I said, "no," thinking that really wasn't important. Then I remembered something I saw when I went out to get sour cream (for onion dip I HAD to have). It was a pickup with unusual red markings on the windows that caught my eye. I thought I saw an anarchy sign, which I hadn't seen in years. Then I looked to the other window and saw the word GAINTS painted very clearly. I studied it for a minute, then began to laugh uncontrollably in my mini-van as I realized what that was SUPPOSED to spell. I was so curious who was driving the vehicle I waited as he got out-just to see what a guy looked like who is so proud of his team that he must write its name on his vehicle; wondering if he really wanted, supported, and was working for anarchy or just knew how to write the symbol, and finally; debated whether to let the lad know that he might want to check his spelling before painting his car. So after recalling all of this, I said to David, "I think the Gaints?"

Lizzie Love will now be de-stashing supplies at the etsy shop

In an effort to destash, I will now be selling supplies on lizzielove as well. I usually purchase large quantities of beads, so once I’ve used the amount needed for a particular project, I’m often ready to release them. (Especially since I’ve never made the same piece twice!) So now you can enjoy usable quantities of beads at low prices, and just like my jewelry, I’ll ship the beads as reasonably as possible. Look for glass and crystal beads in all shapes and sizes, including millefiori and Swarovski; gemstones and pearls; and some unique wood and metal beads.

Game Day

Mario Galaxy on the Wii, Battleship, Diego Memory Game, and now Dominoes. Along with a little maintenance on the etsy website, this has been my morning. Glorious. I love it! Of course I have to force myself not to clean or create, but its freeing not to do it! The little one is walking around with pajamas and no undies or diaper, so I keep getting crack shots of the sweetie. Just one more cup of coffee and I'll have to figure out a plan for the day. 11:00 am, this is pretty good. Though with it being 11 degrees, do we really want to plan something out of the house?

Love is in the air!

Love is a Path. This is a spiral rope weave bracelet where I've used a hot pink mix of matte seed beads for the core, and spiraled shiny black beads around that. Three sterling silver "heart"y charms adorn the bracelet. Click into my shop to see the all-bead closure.

Bridal Pieces

Here is the bridesmaid necklace for an April wedding. The dresses are a gorgeous, light shade of turquoise, that proved a little difficult to match!

This bracelet I've created as a gift for the bride (something new!) who also happens to be my beautiful niece.
